María Amasanti is a freelance photojournalist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has been published in the New York Times, ESPN, La Nacion, Perfil, and The Boston Globe.

María has previously worked as the photography co-op for The Boston Globe, and served as a photographer for Northeastern University's official Marketing and Communications department, and has served as photojournalism intern at Diario Perfil. She has also completed an internship at LA NACION, working in both the photography department and the international desk as a reporter – the first person in the history of the program to have worked in two sections simultaneously. She has also worked as a photo editor at LA NACION.

She has a Master's Degree in Journalism from the Universidad Torcuato di Tella/LA NACION masters program, as well as a B.A. in Journalism and a B.A. in International Affairs, Middle East concentration, from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

She attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXI in 2018 as part of the tie-dye team.
